K no K Pai:

Well, to wrap up GREMLIN WORLD Week on my K no K, I thought I do something special and actually do a new piece of art for all of you. So here it is, Pai in her alternate costume!! The pose was sort of inspired by the last week's Boot's the Cat image but changed a little to make some variety. See you guys later!

Well... I'm going to be trying to do a new rant every week for Gremlin World for as long as I can manage it. This week I will talk about the comics I read...actually that'll probably be a reoccuring topic. Anyway, every week I read Bleach, Naruto, One Piece and Buso Renkin. Naruto is very popular right now and so is Bleach, in fact, I think most of you readers have probably read at least one or two chapters of either or both of these series. Of the two I think that Bleach has a much more visually appealing art style, while Naruto's is very fluid and dynamic. I like the sketchiness of Mr. Tite Kubo's (Bleach) art style and Mr. Kishimoto of Naruto has a really great sense of flair and dimension with his perspective shots. Right now, I think Bleach has a much more structured story line, and am kind of sad cause sometimes it seems that Kishimoto's planning is rushed or done for no reason, but still Naruto is enjoyable to read for me. Of the series I read, I think that Buso Renkin is the least appreciated. It's the current comic by Rurouni Kenshin creator, Nobuhiro Watsuki, and is about a boy who gets super powers when he's attacked by a monster called Homonoculus. A mysterious girl saves his life and gives him some new powers and in return he helps her battle the monsters, that's the gist of it anyway. Alot of people have compared this series to Full Metal Alchemist because the characters' powers are similar, but I perfer Buso Renkin to FMA because I really like Watsuki's story telling much more and I really like his strange assortment of characters especially Captian Bravo and Papillion Mask (who is funny in a very strange kind of way. Also, I think that for me, Watsuki's art is much nicer to look at and really dynamic. There's also a ton of American comic references that are cool to look out for, so I've had a blast following the series and would recommend you to as well. Watsuki's been a huge influence on me and I've started using his layouts as reference material in GW Chapter 8, so the very least I could do was support this new work (which got me reading RuroKen and Gun Blaze West again).
