I did this piece soon after I began learning stuff in my Character Design class. I had a great teacher (a teacher who I still have in Storyboarding as I'm writing this) and I learned alot of interesting ways to use tools and angles and all kinds of other design know how in the class, one of which was character body types and consistant proportions. So from these lessons this really classy pic of Pai was born, and it's still one of my favorite recent Pai pics. We even used it a couple times in Magazine Zenkai Vol. 3. Also, I really like the way the coloring came out, it's the same technique I used on the Chapter 10 cover and on the Pepper poster.
Well, it is now nearing the end of September, PMX and the summer is over, many of our readers and staff are returning to school, and Turkey Day and Christmas has us counting our savings; but that's not all the fall is bringing us! Some of you may have noticed that Gremlin World has been going for 11 months!! And in November, we will be celebrating Gremlin World's first anniversary! Now, usually this would mean doing a celebratory picture or special comic strip or something, but I'm hoping to make this a very special anniversary, something that we can all look back and remember! Somehow, it doesn't even feel like we've been working on the strip THAT long, but it's been a very busy year for everyone involved in the creation process so I think that contributed alot to the speed with which this last year has passed. I hope you all are still enjoying this comic, and as always the best is yet to come! Please look forward to our goings on this November!!
