Alright well, I finally get to write a new bit of commentary on this page since it looks as though this page didn't get one on it's original publication date. Anyway, this is also the first commentary I've had to write up during the entire duration of GW being posted on DA up till now and so I've had quite a bit of time to look back over my old work. And though I'm quite proud of it, I think I have fallen short in many areas up till now and apologize to my readership because of it. Don't get me wrong, I still have lots of respect for the integrity of my past work and will some day go back and touch up the areas I think could use them (backgrounds, effects, etc.), but as a director and illustrator I missed alot stuff that could've made this comic really shine. As for today's page...
Like yesterday's page, I really like this page... it works really well and nothing is hard to miss here. I think I drew both this page and the previous one on the same day or possibly over the duration of two days but the spirit behind the artwork is really close for both. I think the last panel could've been done a little better and the weights could use some shading but I think that's all I'd really improve here.
Well, it's been a good long while since anything's been written in here so I'm going to give you guys the spiel on what's been going on in the Aswembar thinking chambers...
As has previously been announced, Gremlin World Graphic Novel vol. 1 is under production right now and will include chapters 1-9 with some brushed up art and dialoge as well as a textless cover page gallery and a brand new Pepper and Yamato side story. Of course we'll also include some chapter commentaries and thoughts on character development. Original cover art, too, which I'm wracking my brain over.
Magazine Zenkai 4 should be coming up in the summer as well. More on that later.
We're also working on a few surprises for the site as well, and a few new banners should be coming your way soon.
Finally on to the comic, we've finally made our way through Chapter 10. Some of you might have noticed that the last two pages skip a page number and this is not a mistake, but we've decided to add one more page to this chapter making the grand total to be a huge 37 pages. In the next few days I'll be trying to write in any missing comments and finish pages that were not shaded on time, also I'll be doing a complete version of the two page spread. Chapter 11 will be coming along in Feburary, but between now and then we'll probably be running about 4 or 5 GW Etc. pages, and they should be pretty funny, as there's alot to make fun of in this chapter.
